 Project proposes double annual allowance until 2023 for retirees and pensioners

According to the author of the proposal, deputy Aureo Ribeiro, the measure aims to attenuate the consequences caused by the depression resulting from the pandemic



Deputy Aureo Ribeiro (Solidariedade-RJ) presented to the Chamber of Deputies a proposal that aims to attenuate the impact of the crisis caused by the covid-19 to families across the country. Bill 5641/20 establishes a double annual allowance, until 2023, for policyholders and dependents on Social Security.


The project amends the Social Security Benefits Law, a measure that grants the benefit to the insured and therefore the dependent who has received sick benefit, accident or old-age pension, death pension or imprisonment aid during the year. The allowance is calculated within the same way because the workers' 13th salary.



"It is worth mentioning that guaranteeing the 14th salary for retirees and pensioners won't be enough to unravel the depression, but it's a measure that has got to be added to others to assist and restore the country's economic process," acknowledged Ribeiro.
